Made a peach crisp for dessert.
Right after supper Luke turns on the oven light, looks at it and pronounces
“It’s done”
Really?
I looked and felt it needed a few more minutes and told Luke that.
He walked away saying:
“Have yours overdone if you want it that way!!”
(Shortly thereafter I removed the crisp, truth is he has had more experience making crisps with his mom than I have, and it was delicious!)
Pho will come and Pho will go and I know that we will be eating and enjoying our Pho for many years to come.

Love when two worlds collide in a child’s mind, so easy for a child, so hard for us adults.
Yesterday we went to the Aquarium. Luke’s favorite area was the shark tank where you can touch the bamboo and hammerheads. There is a person telling you facts about the sharks while you touch. One of the facts that stuck in his mind was that the sharks can hear for a distance of one mile underwater.
Today Luke built a robotic arm to add to his rocket ship (sometimes it is a Delta 5 and sometimes it is a Space Shuttle) He did the whole thing by himself, cutting the cardboard with his wood saw.
After liftoff I overheard this one tidbit
“Endeavor is now one mile above the surface of the earth where the sharks can still hear us”
It doesn’t get much better than that.
Luke: “We’re eating wampum”
Dad: “That sounds hard, how is it?”
Luke: “Great!”
I then look out the window where Luke and Lily are sitting at the kids table with a container of GORP (good old raisins and peanuts, and in this case CHOCOLATE MORSELS)
Dad: “Which is the best part of the wampum?”
luke: “The CHOCOLATE part!”
“They” say that a child will eat when they wants, that you should look at the daily intake, not the individual meal.
“They” lie and I can prove it.
Lily Apple Cline will not eat if Luke is around and playing.
Lily Apple Cline will stop eating, mid mouthful, if Luke is enticing her to go play.
Lily Apple Cline will not eat before 10am.
All of these things Lily Apple Cline will not do, no matter how hungry she is. Ravenous, hasn’t eaten in two days, does not matter. Her brother takes president, every time, without a doubt.
