Luke: “I really didn’t like what was in my lunch today, except the oreo cookies”
Dad: “Oh, I try different things because you rarely eat what I have been making, so I try something new”
Luke: “I would like a peanut butter and jelly tomorrow”
Dad: “Huh, I thought you no longer liked peanut butter and jelly sandwiches”
Luke: “What are you talking about, yes I do?”
Dad: “You told me you didn’t like them anymore and didn’t want them in your lunch anymore”
-silence-
Dad: “No problem, I will make one tomorrow.”
Next day
Luke: “how come you only put a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in my lunch today?”
Dad: “Because that is what you asked for.”
Luke: “but what about the oreo cookies?”
That is pretty much the end of the story, but I think the photo of the sandwich is hilarious.
As we sat there in the kitchen after school Luke then ate half a peanut butter and jelly sandwich (a new one) a whole yogurt and a rice and cheese burrito. I know he has a good appetite and I also know he is too busy at school to be bothered with eating his lunch.
It’s all good.
